Campos do Jordão sits at 1,628 m in the Serra da Mantiqueira, the highest town seat in Brazil, about 2 h by road from São Paulo. Get around
The centre is walkable but hilly; taxis and app cars handle the rest. The Bondinho streetcar loops Capivari–Abernéssia–Jaguaribe in about 40 min. A car helps for parks, waterfalls and Santo Antônio do Pinhal; the SP-123 from Taubaté is winding and often foggy.
