Dumbrăveni
Skip as a base: half a day if you pass through for the Armenian Catholic Church, then sleep in Mediaș or Sighișoara.
Dumbrăveni is a small town in northern Sibiu County, on the Târnava Mare River, about 20 km east of Mediaș. Its one sight is the Armenian Catholic Church, built 1766–1791. The town has a large Roma population and few services for travellers. Most visitors stop briefly between Mediaș and Sighișoara rather than stay. Before 1945 it was called Ibașfalău (German: Elisabethstadt; Hungarian: Erzsébetváros).
