Geldrop is a small North Brabant town of about 29,000 people, 5 minutes by Sprinter train from Eindhoven and ringed by heath and forest. It is a cheaper, quieter alternative to sleeping in Eindhoven, with a castle, a weaving museum and good cycling. Most travellers spend one night or visit as a half-day from Eindhoven.

Get around

The centre is walkable in 10–15 minutes. A bike is the best way to reach the heath, Heeze and Mierlo; some hotels rent bikes for a charge. NS Sprinter trains run to Eindhoven in about 5 minutes and onward to Weert; buses 24 and 320 link Eindhoven, Helmond and Asten.

Bogardeind / south side: Quieter, near SpaSense and the Buenos hotel; 10–15 min walk to the centre.
