    An hour in the emperor's retreat (built 1864–1867): lotus lake, pavilions, and the tomb he never lay in; go first on the tomb circuit, before 10:00.

  2. Tomb of Đồng Khánh

    Twenty-five minutes on foot from Tự Đức's gate is the small tomb of his adopted son: a temple with lacquer, French tiles and glass paintings, and usually nobody else. Add it when you are at Tự Đức anyway.
