Etiquette
- Greetings: Say good morning or good afternoon before any question or request; skipping it reads as rude.
- Photos: Ask before photographing people; do not photograph police or soldiers.
- Dress: Casual is fine; cover up away from the beach and in churches and museums.
- Cannabis: Rules are specific and different from home: small amounts are decriminalised but it is not legal to use it anywhere. Check the rules before you carry or use any.
- Tipping: Check for a service charge; 10–15% otherwise, and round up taxi fares.
- Rastafari sites: Show respect at Rastafari and Marley sites; ask before photographing and follow your guide.
