Kralupy nad Vltavou
Skip as a destination. Use it as a cheap day trip from Prague (30 min by train) for a riverside walk and a cheap pub lunch, then return. No need to stay overnight.
Kralupy nad Vltavou is a satellite town 27 km north of Prague, split by the Vltava river. It offers a glimpse of everyday Czech life away from the tourist crowds: a short walk along the river, a climb up Hostibejk hill, and pubs where lunch costs half what it does in Prague. There is no major sight — the nearby Veltrusy chateau is the closest thing to a landmark. Most travellers should skip it or treat it as a half-day filler.
