Mpwapwa
Skip unless you have a specific reason to visit: half a day is enough to see the town, eat chipsi mayai and buy gemstones.
Mpwapwa is a small town in central Tanzania, about 3 hours by bus from Dodoma and 7–8 hours from Dar es Salaam. It has no major sights beyond the surrounding hills and baobab trees, and most travellers pass through on the way to Kondoa's rock art or Dodoma. One night is the maximum most visitors stay.
