North Maharashtra (Khandesh) covers four districts: Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar. Nashik is the tourism hub — wine tours, Trimbakeshwar temple, and the Kumbh Mela every 12 years. Jalgaon is the gateway to the Ajanta Caves (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Dhule and Nandurbar are quieter, with wildlife sanctuaries and tribal culture. Distances are 1–3 hours by road; changing hotels every night wastes time.
