- Saudi Arabia ↗Alcohol is banned: do not bring it in, and do not buy it from anyone.

The north is Tabuk and Jawf provinces: desert cliffs, oases, rock art and the Red Sea coast, with almost no tourist infrastructure outside the new NEOM and Red Sea resort zones. Distances are the whole story. Highway 65 runs Riyadh–Sakakah–Qurayyat in good condition but with long gaps between petrol stations; Highway 15 links Medina and Tabuk. Without your own car, or a hotel-arranged driver, you will spend the trip waiting. Base in Tabuk for the coast, Wadi Disah and the Jordan road, or in Sakakah for Jawf's rock art and oasis towns.

- Tabuk 3: coast one day, Wadi Disah one day, town and fort half a day
- 5 nights
- Tabuk 3 + Sakakah 2 (fly or drive between; add Qurayyat only if crossing to Jordan)
- Treating the north as a day trip from Riyadh or Jeddah does not work: Riyadh–Sakakah is roughly 8–9 h by road.
- Fuel, food and phone signal gaps on Highway 65 and the coast road; carry water and cash.
- NEOM and Red Sea resort access is controlled by the operators — do not assume you can drive in.
