Vaccination requirements

The Republic of the Congo requires a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for travellers aged 9 months or older arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Bring the International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV).

In addition to Yellow Fever, health authorities recommend Hepatitis A (single dose, protects against contaminated food/water) and Typhoid (oral or injectable). Hepatitis B, Rabies (if you may handle animals) and routine immunisations (MMR, DTP, Polio, seasonal flu) are also advised.

  • Yellow Fever – required for travellers aged 9 months or older from risk countries, certificate on entry
  • Hepatitis A – 1 dose, booster after 2 years
  • Typhoid – oral or injectable; ask a travel clinic about doses and timing
  • Hepatitis B – 3-dose series if not already immune
  • Rabies – 3-dose pre-exposure if animal contact likely
