Sedibeng is the southern wedge of Gauteng, straddling the Vaal River. It is known for the Vaal Dam — South Africa's second-largest dam by area — and for fishing, sailing and camping along the river. Vereeniging is the main town. Most visitors come for a weekend of water sports or as a stop between Johannesburg and the Free State.
