Vaduz is a half-day town: walk the Städtle, look up at the castle, see the Kunstmuseum, and sleep here only if you want the mountains at both ends of the day.
The honest verdict
Vaduz has no airport and no main-line station of its own: you arrive by car or bus from Sargans, Buchs or Feldkirch, or by a pre-booked car from Zurich. The centre is one pedestrian street below a castle you cannot enter, and prices are Swiss. What goes wrong is time and cost: two hours of transfers for a two-hour visit, and a Swiss-priced lunch. Four small areas cover the town; keep one bed and use the bus for Triesenberg and Malbun.
