Bornholm is a 588 km² Baltic island 37 km off Sweden: granite cliffs in the north, white sand at Dueodde in the south, round churches and smokehouses in between. The longest ride is about 36 km, so a bike covers the island in 2–3 days. Sleep in one town and day-trip the rest; ferries and the airport both land near Rønne.

June–September is the season; Svaneke claims the most sunshine hours in Northern Europe. July–August is peak for Scandinavian, German and Polish visitors — book beds and bikes ahead.
