- On Sundays, the Feria de San Telmo street fair spreads for many blocks up and down Defensa street, far beyond the market building itself, with the crowds and the pickpocket risk that come with it.
- Plaza Dorrego, two minutes away, is the traditional heart of the neighbourhood and hosts outdoor tango dancing on some evenings.
