  Very hot lowlands; few visitors.

• Caribbean Honduras: Bay Islands · Roatán, Útila, Guanajarainy

  Drier and breezier than the mainland; rain showers pass quickly. September–October is the hurricane window.

• Caribbean Honduras: Mainland coast · Omoa to Trujillo and the Mosquitiarainy

  Wetter than the islands most of the year; the east (La Mosquitia) is wettest and hardest to reach.

• Honduran Highlands: Western highlands (Copán, Gracias, Santa Rosa) · 1,000–1,500 mrainy

  Dry, cool mornings Nov–Apr; afternoon showers May–Oct. Evenings need a layer year-round.

• Honduran Highlands: Central highlands (Tegucigalpa, Comayagua, Lake Yojoa) · 600–1,000 mrainy

  Warmer and drier than the west; Tegucigalpa hits the low 30s °C in the dry season.

• Pacific Honduras: Choluteca plain and Gulf of Fonseca · Choluteca, San Lorenzo, Isla del Tigrerainy
