Małopolskie (Lesser Poland) is Kraków plus mountains and two heavy day trips. Sleep in Kraków for 3–4 nights: the Old Town and Kazimierz are walkable, and Oświęcim (Auschwitz-Birkenau) and Wieliczka are 1–1.5 h away by train or bus. Add 2 nights in Zakopane only if you want the Tatras; the smaller spa towns and wooden-church villages need a car.
