Noto Peninsula is one of the most remote parts of mainland Japan, with a rugged Sea of Japan coast, historic fishing villages, hot‑spring towns and local seafood such as oysters and ishiri sauce. Public transport is sparse; a car or guided tour is the practical way to explore.
