South County is the Rhode Island coast south of Providence: Washington County plus East Greenwich, minus Block Island. It is a car region — beaches, a bike path, colonial villages and a state park, all within about 40 minutes of each other. Sleep in one town and drive out; changing hotels buys you nothing here.
