Stockholm
Stockholm is an island city: do Gamla Stan and the Djurgården museums by day, watch the light (dark in winter, near-white nights in June) — and pay by card, because cash is barely used.
Stockholm's sights sit on a handful of islands that are close on the map and separated by water, so the trips that go wrong are the ones that pack Gamla Stan, Djurgården and Södermalm into one day, arrive at a museum on a closed Monday, or bring only cash to a city where many places take cards only.
