Hirvensalmi
Half a day is enough: see the church and museum, eat at the harbour, then continue to Mikkeli or Savonlinna. Not a base.
Hirvensalmi is a small lakeside municipality in South Savonia, 30 km west of Mikkeli. Its main draws are the 1915 church, a local history museum and the Satulinna manor hotel. Most travellers stop for lunch or a short walk between Lakeland destinations.
