Half a day: see the UNESCO wooden church (open June–August only) and the meteor crater lake, then move on. Not a base.

Petäjävesi is a tiny village in Central Finland, known for its 1765 wooden church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church is open only in summer, and the other sight is a meteor crater lake. Most travellers come from Jyväskylä for a few hours and leave.
