Coast wet; the Centre has a short drier spell from late June.

June is rated mixed. These months rate higher:

• DecemberGreatDry and festive; diaspora visits fill flights and Kribi hotels around Christmas.

  Hot and humid all year; Douala takes about 4 m of rain, mostly July–September. December–February is beach season at Kribi.

• Centre and South forest · Yaoundé, Ebolowa, Campo, Djafine

  Two rainy seasons (March–June, September–November) with a short dry spell in July–August.

• Western highlands · Dschang, Bafoussam, Foumbanrainy

  Cool evenings at 1,200–1,600 m; muddy side roads in the rains.

• Adamawa plateau · Ngaoundérérainy

  Grassland at about 1,100 m; the end of the railway from Yaoundé.

• Sahelian north · Garoua, Maroua (under travel advice)rainy
