Toktogul

Stop for 1 night on the Bishkek–Osh road: the reservoir and a horse trek are worth the break, but the town itself is a transit point, not a destination.
Toktogul is a small town (population about 16,000) on the main highway between Bishkek and Osh. Most travellers use it as an overnight stop to break the long drive, with the Toktogul Reservoir and a short horse trek as the main reasons to pause. The town itself has a small bazaar and a few homestays; the surrounding nature is the real draw.
