Entering Vietnam
Tịnh Biên · Tịnh Biên, An Giang
- Visa on arrival
- No
- E-visa accepted here
- Yes
No visa on arrival at land borders. Enter on the Vietnam e-visa (evisa.gov.vn) or a visa exemption; the e-visa must name an open land port. (check)
Entering Cambodia
Phnom Den · Phnom Den, Takeo
- Visa on arrival
- Yes
- E-visa accepted here
- Check
Visa on arrival (pay the posted US dollar fee, refuse extras) or the Cambodia e-visa, which is accepted only at listed land posts. Fill the e-Arrival card online before you go. (check)
Visa answers are for most Western passports and change often. Check yours on entry check and the official e-visa site; for e-visas, the post must be on the country's list of accepted ports.
Getting across
- Minibus Châu Đốc → Phnom Penh via Tịnh Biên, about 5–6 h (check).
- Xe ôm or taxi from Châu Đốc to the post (about 30 min), then a shared taxi on the Cambodian side.
Scams and traps
- Minibus drivers asking extra 'border fees' on top of the ticket.
- Visa 'processing' charges on the Cambodian side above the posted price.
Tips
- Fewer buses than Bavet: book the day before in Châu Đốc.
- Check that your Cambodia e-visa lists Phnom Den before relying on it; otherwise plan on the visa on arrival.

Everything marked check, and every hour and fee, needs confirming before you travel: posts close for holidays, disputes and roadworks with little notice. Written from Voykit's own notes; checked 2026-09.
