Getting across
- Fast boat Châu Đốc → Phnom Penh, about 4–5 h including the border stop (check the season: low water slows it).
- Slow boats run too; ask your hotel in Châu Đốc the day before.
Scams and traps
- Boat crew offering to 'handle' the visa on arrival for a fee: do it yourself.
- Fake 'last boat today' pressure at Châu Đốc docks.
Tips
- Book with a named company and get a printed ticket.
- Keep your passport and a pen in your day bag, not the hold.

Everything marked check, and every hour and fee, needs confirming before you travel: posts close for holidays, disputes and roadworks with little notice. Written from Voykit's own notes; checked 2026-09.
