Getting across
- International bus between the two towns' terminals, about 30–60 min including stops.
- Taxis and remises will wait at both posts if you ask.
Scams and traps
- Buses that do not wait while you get stamped: keep your ticket and catch the next one.
- Money changers with poor rates at the bus stations.
Tips
- Make sure you get stamped both ways even on a day trip (some drivers skip the stop).
- The Paraguay crossing at Ciudad del Este is next door: a separate border.
Nearest places
Everything marked check, and every hour and fee, needs confirming before you travel: posts close for holidays, disputes and roadworks with little notice. Written from Voykit's own notes; checked 2026-09.
